Back pain is now the second most prevalent
reason for visits to the doctor and sick days.
A huge percentage of the populace reports experiencing muscle tension and back pain, both of which can be severely debilitating on a personal level and can even lead to disability - not to mention the direct and indirect costs of these issues to the healthcare system and the economy as a whole.
Although our bodies are designed for movement, we spend most of our time sitting down: at work, on the way there, and during free time, in front of the TV or the computer. All that time quickly adds up to the 14 hours an adult can spend sitting down each day.
- Eighty percent of cronic back pain is attributable to neglect of the back muscles.
