Mindfulness in the workplace

Maren M. Michalsen and a team of health researchers from the University of Witten/Herdecke have summarized why mindfulness is so important for a healthy working life. Those who practice mindfulness and integrate it into their daily (work) routine can sustainably improve their stress levels and subjective well-being.

"Mindfulness has become a buzzword in recent years, often going in one ear and out the other. This may be because it initially seems vague and it's not entirely clear what it actually means. There are various definitions of mindfulness: Most commonly, it is described as 'the intentional focus of attention on the present moment without judgment.' This is achieved through various physical and mental exercises that can have a positive impact, especially on everyday work."

An interesting summary and analysis of the current state of research on mindfulness in the workplace.
